Scout Programs

The Fort Pitt Museum, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, and the History Center have programming especially for Scouts, including badge days, overnighters, and workshops.

At the History Center, scouts can earn Girl and Boy Scout badges and complete Cub Scout Adventures or spent the night as part of the Night at the History Museum overnighter.

SCOUT GUIDED AND SELF-GUIDED TOURS

If you are looking for a more free-form day, please consider doing some of the History Center’s new drop-in activities for Scouts or booking a guided tour for a group of at least ten Scouts and/or adults.

To book either a guided or self-guided tour of the History Center for a group of at least ten people (either Scouts or adult leaders), please complete a form on the Request an Education Program page or contact Group Tour Coordinator Christina McElwain at 412-454-6304 or cmmcelwain@heinzhistorycenter.org.

OUTREACH FROM THE HISTORY CENTER

Want to know more about the History Center’s Scout programs? The History Center can come to you!

History Center staff are happy to come to a troop meeting or Scout leader planning meeting to get Scouts excited about our Badge Day programs, Night at the History Museum sleepovers, and Scout tour opportunities.

Contact Nate Rodda at nrrodda@heinzhistorycenter.org or 412-454-6433 to set up an outreach date.
