The History Center’s exciting summer camps explore Pittsburgh history in engaging and hands-on activities for youth who have just finished 3rd – 6th grade!

Pittsburgh Imagineers

3rd & 4th Grade: Week of July 16
5th & 6th Grade: Week of Aug. 6

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended drop-off and pick-up available
Cost: $225 | $200 for History Center members

Let your imagination soar and engineer it down to earth! You will explore the steps of innovation through Pittsburgh history, generate new ideas like the Alcoa company, tinker and explore like jazz musician Earl “Fatha” Hines, and produce Pop art like Burton Morris. Combine your creativity and what you have learned in a design thinking challenge!

Blast From the Past

3rd and 4th Grade: Week of July 23
5th and 6th Grade: Week of Aug. 13

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended drop-off and pick-up available
Cost: $225 | $200 for History Center members

Experience Pittsburgh’s place in pop culture, from “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” to George Romero’s zombies and everything in between. Explore music and food, see Pittsburgh in film and television, become a sports super fan, and join in a zombie survival challenge in Discovery Place. You will make your own Pop art masterpiece!

Extended drop-off and pick-up hours

Extended drop-off and pick-up hours are available for all camp sessions for $50 a week, which includes all five days of the session. The extended drop-off hours are from 8 – 9 a.m., and the extended pick-up hours are from 3  – 5 p.m.
