Travel 400 years into the past to explore Meadowcroft’s recreated Monongahela Indian Village.

Visitors to the walled village can explore the interior of a wigwam, see carefully recreated prehistoric artifacts, and try their hand at using the atlatl, a type of prehistoric spear thrower. Hands-on opportunities abound for children and adults alike.

Immediately outside the village is a traditional Three Sisters garden as well as a hunting camp filled with furs, hunting tools, and fishing equipment.

The village is based on archaeological evidence from the region.
