The Thomas & Katherine Detre  Library & Archives provides reference assistance to researchers who visit or contact us. Initial inquiries may be made by phone at 412-454-6364 or by e-mailing library@heinzhistorycenter.org.

Responses to reference requests may require two to three weeks to accomplish. Every attempt to answer questions promptly will be made. While answers for each request cannot be guaranteed, researchers will be provided with a complete list of sources checked.

Paper copies and/or photographic or digital image reproductions can be made of most of the material in the collection. 

The Library & Archives staff can also provide names of professional researchers if a project is beyond the scope of the available resources. Arrangements with private researchers, however, are the requestor’s responsibilities.
