Boy Scout Brochure

Currently, we have several opportunities for Boy Scouts of all levels. We have troop tours that may be guided or self guided , as well as Cub Scout, Webelo, and Boy Scout Badges. You may add a Scavenger Hunt activety to your self tour.

Belt Loops and Badges
Sat., Sept. 25 2010 and Sat., Nov. 6, 2010

Our Boy Scout programs are self-guided experiences. Each Boy Scout and adult will be given a badge booklet. Your troop will follow the directions in the booklet, complete the activities and visit various exhibits. The Scouts will learn skills such as map reading, research and of course, local history.

When the Scouts finish the booklets, they will have met the requirments* for the badge. Once completed, make sure that the blue card is signed by the museum volunteer at the registration table. You can then purchase badges through your district.

Currently, we offer the Heritages and COmmunicating Belt Loops for Cub Scouts. Webelos can earn the Citizen or Communicator badges, and we offer American Cultures, American Heritages, and Collections Merit Badges for Boy Scouts.

All badges are scheduled on Saturday or Sunday as requested by the troop. The badges take approximately 3-4 hours to complete. We recommend chosing ONE Merit Badge to complete during each visit. The History CEnter is a certified Merit Badge Provider.

* Not all requirements for all Merit Badges are able to be completed on site. See badge description for more details.
