Footballs and Baseball Bats
Immortalize your family with this unique gift idea. Standard-sized footballs and baseball bats autographed by you or the individual of your choice will be displayed in custom-made racks on the Sports Museum’s top floor “bridge.” A small bronze plaque near the display will identify the donor.
Cost: Footballs or baseball bats are available for a contribution of $500.
Black and Gold Wall
Celebrate your championship sports team, honor a family member, or show your black and gold pride. A 6″x12″ custom-made bronze plaque with the name and/or message of your choice. The bronze plaques will be displayed on a Black and Gold wall at the entrance to the Sports Museum.
Cost: A plaque on the Black and Gold Wall is available for a contribution of $1,000 and includes a 1-year Contributor membership.
Pay tribute to family members, friends, or your own accomplishments with a 6″x12″ tile in the History Center’s first floor Great Hall. Made of iron, aluminum, or stainless steel, each tile is engraved with an individual’s or company’s name up to 75 characters long.
Visitors who purchase tiles are also invited to write a 250-word tribute that will be preserved in the History Center’s Detre Library & Archives.

Preserve your own piece of history within the walls of the Smithsonian’s home in Pittsburgh. Visitors can personalize each time capsule based on their personal interests. Items may include family photos, military medals, school report cards, diplomas, or any other special memento you would like to to save for future generations.
Filling a time capsule is the perfect way to celebrate milestones, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or family reunions. Each time capsule is sealed inside a specially-designed wall located in the foyer of the first floor McGuinn Gallery, part of the History Center’s Smithsonian wing.
A stainless steel, brass, or aluminum plaque serves as a nameplate to identify the location of your time capsule. History Center staff can help you with archival-quality preservation materials or assistance in preparing the items for storage within your time capsule.
Cost: Time capsules are available for contributions of $2,500 (aluminum), $5,000 (brass), $10,000 (stainless steel) and include a 1-year Contributor membership.
