Save the date for Cub Scout Day at the Fort Pitt Museum!

The Fort Pitt Museum invites Cub Scouts to attend the second annual Cub Scout Day.

Scouts will participate in a guided program related to life on the 18th century Western Pennsylvanian frontier. Activities will include experiences that will fulfill multiple Adventure requirements, such as tours, hikes, games, hands-on activities, and, weather permitting, living history demonstrations provided by costumed re-enactors.

Registered Scouts will receive a special event patch, pencil, guidebook, and schedule to guide them from activity to activity.

Schedule

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Check In
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Program
Noon to 1 p.m.: Lunch (on your own)

Registration

Registration is open to Cub Scout Packs and individual Cub Scouts and accompanying adults. However, due to the overwhelming response received in 2017, the Fort Pitt Museum is not opening registration to non-Cub Scouts.

When completing the registration form, please include your pack number and scout level to assist in scheduling. All registrants will receive an electronic copy of their program schedule the week prior to Cub Scout Day as well as a hard copy the day of the program.

  • Cub Scouts (All Levels) – $10
  • Adults – $5

Registration will close at the end of business on Tuesday, Oct. 23. A waitlist will be created for those unable to register for any remaining slots after registration has closed. Please register online.

The Fort Pitt Museum works with program partners to provide a diverse program that includes environmental and history related activities that include nature hikes in Point State Park, tours of Fort Pitt Museum exhibits, make and take crafts, and living history demonstrations. In 2017, Cub Scouts completed requirements towards the following Adventures. An updated list of requirements and programs will be made available closer to the program date.

Please take note that the Fort Pitt Museum does not provide Adventure patches and some work may need to be completed either prior to or after the event in order to complete all Adventure requirements.
