Holidays at the History Center

There is so much to see and do at the Heinz History Center this holiday season! Bring the whole family to the Smithsonian’s home in Pittsburgh to enjoy the museum’s A Very Merry Pittsburgh exhibition, snap photos with Santa Claus, shop for one-of-a-kind gifts, and so much more! Plus, kids aged 17 and under receive free admission now through Dec. 31.

This holiday season, all kids ages 17 and under receive FREE admission to the Heinz History Center and Fort Pitt Museum, thanks to support from community partners UPMC and UPMC Health Plan (November) and Howard Hanna Real Estate Services (December). 

 

A Very Merry Pittsburgh Exhibition

Visitors can relive cherished childhood memories and make new ones inside the History Center’s A Very Merry Pittsburgh exhibition, which opens on Saturday, Nov. 18.  The exhibit features a collection of family keepsakes, artifacts, film, and imagery exploring how Western Pennsylvanians have celebrated major winter holidays, including Christmas, Chanukah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and more.  

'Tis the Season to See Santa

Avoid long lines at the mall this holiday season, take your photo with Santa Claus at the History Center! Old St. Nick will appear at the History Center from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on these select dates: Nov. 18, 24, 25, and Dec. 3, 9, 16, and 23. Santa visits are included with regular museum admission and there is no charge to take photos. Saturdays with Santa in December are supported by Howard Hanna Real Estate Services

Batch-A-Toys Drive Returns

Join former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch at the History Center on Saturday, Dec. 9 as we collect toys for families in need this holiday season in support of the Best of the Batch Foundation’s annual Batch-A-Toys drive.
