Join Fort Pitt Museum to meet photographer DJ Huff.

In celebration of the Fort Pitt Museum’s new photography exhibition Across, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Seneca photographer and cultural educator DJ Huff, whose work will be on view at the museum beginning May 17.

In these gallery discussions, Huff will share insights into his creative process, his experience growing up on the Cattaraugus Reservation, and how his work as a cultural interpreter informs his photography. Across offers a contemporary lens on American Indian identity, weaving together personal stories, cultural memory, and moments of everyday beauty.

Huff has also contributed items to the museum’s ongoing exhibit Homelands: Native Nations of Allegheny, which highlights the histories and living traditions of the Native nations who once called Western Pa. home. Huff’s presence at the museum is a powerful bridge between the past and present – and a chance for visitors to engage in conversations about representation, resilience, and community.

Huff will be at the museum to discuss his work on Saturday, May 17 from 11 to noon and 3-4 p.m.

This event is included with museum admission. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with the artist behind Across and explore the intertwined stories of Homelands.
