Celebrate the start of Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village’s 57th season with a day filled with exploration and storytelling. Join us on Saturday, May 2, as we welcome visitors back to the National Historic Landmark in Avella, Pa.

Discover the Meadowcroft Rockshelter, an extraordinary archaeological site that offers a glimpse into life nearly 19,000 years ago. Then, travel across time in Meadowcroft’s engaging historic villages:

  • Test your skills with an atlatl in the 16th-century Monongahela Indian Village.
  • Get a feel for frontier living inside an 18th-century log cabin and trading post.
  • See a blacksmith at work or step inside a 19th-century one-room schoolhouse.
