You are invited to a special first look at our newest exhibition, The Negro Motorist Green Book

Join us at the Heinz History Center on Friday, May 12, for an exclusive first look at our newest exhibition. Presented in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and award-winning author Candacy Taylor, The Negro Motorist Green Book will offer an immersive look at the reality of travel for African Americans in mid-century America and how the annual guide served as an indispensable resource for the nation’s rising Black middle class.

Explore rare artifacts and archival materials, enjoy live music and light refreshments, and mingle with fellow members and the museum professionals who helped bring this important story to life.

Admission

This event is for by invitation only. If you are not a History Center member, join today to attend the Member Preview and receive exclusive perks. Admission is free, but advance registration is required. Please register by May 4.
