Join the Italian American Program for a virtual conversation with oral historians Gianluca Cinelli and Patrizia Piredda, creators of the Memo-AmIt oral history project.

Memo-AmIt explores how the legacy of World War II has shaped the memories, identities, and family stories of Italian Americans across generations. Through recorded interviews with Italian Americans, including Western Pennsylvanians, the project examines how wartime experiences have influenced cultural identity, family narratives, and perceptions of Italy since 1945.

Developed as part of the international MemoGen research initiative, Memo-AmIt was launched in 2025 with the support of the Olga Ragusa and Isa Ragusa Foundation.

Tune in to hear Cinelli and Piredda discuss their research, the stories they’ve collected, and what these personal histories reveal about the lasting impact of World War II on the Italian American experience.
