Yes! Guided and self-guided tours for students are included in the Kamin “Free for Kids” Initiative but are subject to advanced booking and availability. Please note that custom experiences are available at an additional fee. 

We offer two types of experiences: Guided and Self-Guided Field Trips.

  • Self-Guided Tours: Explore at your own pace.
  • Guided Tours: 60–90 minutes with a museum educator.

All groups over 15 students must book at least one month in advance. Your reservation is not final until you receive written confirmation from our staff.

Fill out this form and our team will be in touch. All field trips are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmation email will be sent to you once your spot has been reserved.

We require at least 1 adult for every 10 students and allow up to 1 adult for every 5 students to help support an ideal learning environment. 

Yes! Additional chaperones beyond the 1:5 ratio are welcome, but they must pay regular museum admission.  

Yes, one aide per student needing assistance is admitted free of charge. 

Yes! Lunchroom space is available for a flat $50 fee and must be reserved in advance. Availability is limited.  

Please place lunches in boxes marked with your school’s name upon arrival. It is your responsibility to help load and unload lunches from your vehicle(s) to the carts provided for transportation to the lunchroom. Lunch storage is not guaranteed unless you’ve reserved our lunchroom space. 

Yes. Guided tour routes are determined in advance. Please check our Guided Field Trips Page for details on which exhibits your group will visit. 

Please send final numbers to the History Center at least two weeks before your visit

Group reservations can be cancelled or rescheduled up to two weeks in advance of your scheduled date with written notice. All cancellations or reschedules within two weeks of your reservation date will be subject to a $57 nonrefundable fee, with exception to closures due to weather.  

While we will do our best to accommodate, rescheduling is not guaranteed and is dependent on availability. An invoice for cancellation will be sent for payment afterwards. 

We do our best to accommodate grade-level needs. However, requests for censorship will not be considered, and custom modifications will result in additional fees.
