Memberships benefits begin immediately and last through the end of the month of purchase the following year.

Membership fulfillment usually takes 10-15 business days. If you do not receive your History Center membership packet within this timeframe, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you.

Yes! Your History Center membership also includes free, unlimited admission to the Western Pennsylvania Sports MuseumFort Pitt Museum, and Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village.

The Senator John Heinz History Center is also a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate which means that a Smithsonian membership is included with your History Center membership.

This benefit entitles you to a year’s subscription to Smithsonian magazine, discounts at Smithsonian shops and select dining facilities, and free admission to the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City (other Smithsonian museums are free for everyone).

Not currently, but you can receive free admission by becoming a History Center member. All History Center members receive a Smithsonian membership, as well, with access to the benefits described in the question above.

Free membership admission does not apply to group visits or special programs such as 21+ nights due to additional programming and expenses related to these visits.

All K-12 student groups can visit the museum for field trips free of charge.

The Senator John Heinz History Center contracts with professional payment processing software services that utilize modern software security and encryption technologies to process all transactions. These software providers are required to complete regular compliance certifications to attest to the use of best practices for credit card processing.

A portion of your membership is not tax-deductible because of the value of member benefits received. If you wish to receive full tax-deductibility for your gift or have further questions or concerns, please contact us at 412-454-6351 or [email protected].

The History Center is unable to offer refunds on memberships after 24 hrs of purchasing. If, however, a financial mistake has been made while processing your membership please let us know and we will work to correct and refund our error.

Yes, the cost of your same-day, full-price, admissions transaction can be applied towards a new membership. Any customer service associate at our Admissions Desk or Museum Shop can assist you.
